Nepal:
You can get Nepal visa upon arrival in Kathmandu. You need only
to fill in a form, a passport size photograph and pay a fee of US$
30.00 for 60 days single entry, US$ 50.00 for 60 days double entry.
Bhutan:
Visa for Bhutan must be cleared via Bhutnese Tourism authorities
at least a month in advance. 2 passport size photographs and photo-copy
of passport with all details also must be submitted. Actual visa
will only be issued upon arrival in Paro Airport. Individual tourist
visa for two weeks cost US$ 20.00 extensions can be done at an additional
cost of US$ 20.00
Sikkim:
A special permit for Sikkim and Darjeeling is required on and above
regular visa for India. Visas for India must be obtained from Indian
Embassies or consulate from the country of your origin. Please ask
for special permit for Sikkim. There are two types of Sikkim permits-
An Outer line and an Interline.
The Outerline permit can be obtained from any Indian Mission on
application along with the Indian visa which allow 15 days in Sikkim
to include Gangtok - Pemayangtse - Rumtek and Phudong. There is
no restriction on the number of foreigners under these permit.
The Innerline permit is monitored and issued by Sikkim Tourism
Head Office at Gangtok. It is applicable for a group of 4 persons
or more only covers Rsangu Lake - an high altitude lake on Indo-Tibet
border for one day - Yumthang valley in north Sikkim for 5 days
and for treks at the fringes of Khanchanjunga Range.
Tibet:
Visa for Tibet must be obtain through the Chinese authorities in
Lhasa well in advance. Only those joining on an organized tour are
being issued visas by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu which takes
usually 4-7 days to process. Visa can also be issued in 1-3 days
on payment of additional US$ 30 as a rush fee.
