Support Porters

Help Porters :

Nepal Sanctuary Treks encourage travelers, traveling to Nepal to bring their old/used warm cloths such as waterproof jacket, pants, sweaters, gloves, hats, sunglasses, socks and shoes to donate porters that you use them while trekking in remote and high altitude or donate it to The Porters Clothing Band which provides porters with warm clothing, run by International Porters Protection Group based Kathmandu.

Most of the porters are illiterate, unskilled labor from middle hills, are poor, not equipped for the environment of high altitude that they are in and have more risks of illness and accident. Nepal Sanctuary Treks has been supporting them with Insurance for medical attention and enough warm clothing. We also encourage our trek guides to teach them common courtesy, altitude sickness, hypothermia, frostbite and their preventions, hygienic awareness, and significant of environment.

Mr. Peter Clark-a teacher from Island School, Hong Kong and a very good friend of Nepal Sanctuary Treks, collects new/used warm cloths in Hong Kong and brings them to Kathmandu to support porters.
