There are four seasons in Nepal as under and each
season has its own distinct attraction to offer.
Autumn:
September through November. This season offers excellent
weather and tantalizing mountain views.
Winter:
December through February. This season is
noted for occasional snowfall only at higher elevations. Hence,
it is ideal for trekking at lower elevation, generally below 3000m.
Spring:
March through
May. Different varieties of wild flowers, especially Rhododendrons
make the hillside above 5000m a haunting paradise during the season.
It is mildly warm at lower elevations and at higher elevation over
4000m, the mountain views are excellent and temperature is quite
moderate.
Monsoon:
June through August.
Summer months continues up to mid September making travel wet and
warm. This time is a blessing for the keen botanist as the higher
valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation. It
is recommended to carry insect repellents when trekking during summer
months. Trekking into the rain shadow region, behind the high mountains
and tour to Tibet will be a wonderful experience.
