A. Lodge Trek (Tea house)

(The Ultimate trekking in the Nepal Himalayas)

For centuries, Nepalese and Tibetan traders traveled over the high mountain passes, bringing salt, brocades and gold from the high Tibetan plateau to the verdant valley of Kathmandu, returning with bronze, brass, rice and the exotic offerings of the subcontinent. Modern politics and the passage of time have little affected this trade and one may still meet these merchant with their beribboned mule teams along these time-worn trails and share experiences over a cup of tea or glass of “chang” in the little inns that yet cater to the needs of bed and board.

Visitors may now avail of these same trails to explore the vast Nepalese countryside as yet unreached by tarmacked roads and stop-off for simple fare and bed in one or other of these little village hotels, run today as they have since time began by the erstwhile Thakali people where one gets a little closer to local folks as you eat and sleep in the modest inns they have improved the quality, the introduction of electricity to many villages and solar power have improved for both the local population and trekkers. All you need to bring with you will be your personal gear.

Nepal Sanctuary Treks brings you a choice of eight Lodge Treks up to 18 nights. In the region of North of Kathmandu, home to the devout Sherpas of Helambu, Langtang and Gosaikunda, in the Annaprnas along a familiar trail from couple of days to the famous pilgrimage shrine of Muktinath 10 nights, Annapurna Base Camp-12 nights, and Around Annaprna-18 nights, or into Everest up to 19 nights or more, through the homeland of the Khumbu Sherpas to the base of that mountain of mountains: Everest, Sagarmatha or Chomolongma.

Although the main trekking trails are wonderful, there are some trekkers that like to blaze new trails and discover less promoted and less traveled areas which follow less direct path, some time parallel, routes through jungles that are not even on the maps, in area with less western contact than the main trails. Often you will parts of Nepal still unspoiled and untouched by foreigners (off the beaten path), in these areas including Annapurna and Everest region, time has stood still for centuries.
